ABOUT ME
Hello, everyone! My name is Ethan Hunter, and I am a Sound Designer & Composer based in Melbourne. With three years of experience in this field, I found my passion through a combination of my background in playing music in bands and acting in school productions. The ability to collaborate and compose underscores for plays and dance works truly inspired me to pursue this career path.
In my current role, I take on the primary responsibilities of creating immersive sound experiences and designing captivating compositions. What I find most fulfilling about my work is the opportunity to enjoy and share my creations with a wide range of people, allowing me to convey incredible stories. Additionally, working alongside talented and inspiring individuals adds an extra layer of fulfillment to my journey.
Looking forward, I have specific goals and aspirations for my career. I aim to design a show at renowned theaters like MTC, STC, and the National Theatre in London. Additionally, I am excited about devising my own immersive sound-focused piece that can push the boundaries and explore the potential of sound in storytelling.
One of my significant achievements includes completing two remarkable final projects during my bachelor's degree: "Theatrum Botanicum" and "The Wolves." These projects showcased my adaptability, honesty, and deep understanding of collaboration, as well as my willingness to explore new territories and challenge myself.
The strengths and skills that have contributed to my success include my willingness to learn and grow with each project, recognizing that every opportunity brings new knowledge and experiences. Meeting new people and learning from their perspectives have also played a significant role in my professional development.
My work aims to make a lasting impact. I believe that the arts industry has the power to break boundaries and be innovative. Through intimate human stories and genuine representation, I strive to leave a positive and lasting impact on audiences, reminding them of the transformative potential of the arts.
Outside of my professional life, I have various interests that bring me joy and inspiration. I'm an avid soccer/football enthusiast. I also appreciate the artistry of tattoos and savoring a glass of red wine, as they provide a sense of personal expression and relaxation.
An interesting fact about me is that I've attended more theater shows in the past eight years than I have been to the cinema. The live performances and the energy of the stage have always held a special place in my heart.
