Αριάδνη / Ariadne is presented as part of the Masters of Theatre (Directing) graduating season launch at The University of Melbourne - The Victorian College of Arts. Our play is still in development, as we hope we can rework it and present it live, in 2022. Αριάδνη / Ariadne is an original audio play based on the ancient Greek myth of Ariadne of Crete. In this version, Ariadne reclaims her story and escapes the labyrinth. The story that audiences typically remember is the one where Ariadne is abandoned by Theseus after being tricked by him.  In this version, Ariadne shares her story growing up in Crete and how she wished to escape her birthplace. She reminds us that she was the mistress of the labyrinth, the one that knew how to enter and more importantly how to exit the labyrinth. Written in both English & Greek, this immersive storytelling experience allows you to enter Ariadne’s thoughts, travel centuries ago, and listen while she tries to escape her thoughts, her labyrinth. The only way out is in.

The audio play can be found here
